About Total Philanthropy | We are a New York City based, full service philanthropy consultancy. We provide sustainable fundraising solutions for non-profits and strategic advice to all types of funders both institutional and individual.
Our core philosophy is collaboration. Working with us feels more like working with a colleague than a consultant. We pride ourselves in getting to know you, your organization and your core values in order to find the best fit whether you are raising money and searching for meaningful ways in which to give. Current and former clients include the National Yiddish Theatre Folksbiene, Imani Winds Chamber Music Festival at Lincoln Center, Singing Revolution the Musical, New City Music Theatre (formally Cleveland Musical Theatre), Purple Threads Ensemble and LimmudFSU. About Joe Mace, Founder and Primary Consultant | With nearly two decades of development experience on both coasts, Joe has worked with fantastic fundraising teams from at least a dozen cultural organizations throughout the US in raising nearly $100 million dollars. Experienced in all aspects of development, he has a successful track record of cultivating, stewarding and securing gifts both large and small from individuals, foundations, government sources and corporations. Over the years, he has built lasting relationships with many of the country's leading foundations. His work in fundraising is rooted in bridge building—carefully curating meaningful relationships between non-profits, funders and the constituents they serve. In addition to work in philanthropy and fundraising, he is a classically trained singer and music educator. He has served as Master Teaching Artist with Metropolitan Opera Guild and a curriculum consultant for Opera Saratoga and Reimagining Opera for Kids. In addition to appearances Off-Broadway and with regional theatre and symphonies across the country, he has appeared as a chorister with the Metropolitan Opera, San Francisco Opera and New Orleans Opera. He holds a Doctor of Music in Vocal Performance and Music Education from the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music, a Master of Music from the San Francisco Conservatory and undergraduate degrees in French and Music from Tulane University. He serves as Board President of the Amity Trio and is a former trustee of the Omnia Youth Chorale. |
